Great task manager tool,
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me is there a way of adding 4 weekly to the dropdown list?
Thank you. There is already a 'weekly' recurring option in the template. Can you please explain your question with an example?
ReplyDeleteI have some tasks that occur on a four weekly basis, once every four weeks. This is so that the task falls on the same day every four weeks regardless of the date. Say the task falls on Monday on week one and it will again fall on Monday on week five.
ReplyDeleteThanks
I understand now. Yes, it can be added as an option in the drop down list. I need to make changes to the formula. I will post an updated template after I make the changes.
DeleteThank you very much, you are very accommodating.
ReplyDeletePerfect.
Not a problem. I have been traveling this week. I plan to post the update within the next day or two.
DeletePlease take a look at the new version v2 of the template in this page above. For more details on the enhancements, please read http://indzara.blogspot.com/2013/06/update-to-task-manager-excel-template.html
DeleteI hope the new version addresses your requirement of every 4 weeks.
Thanks for your feedback.
hi
ReplyDeleteI can't access the template to download it ... any idea ?
Hello Mejo,
DeleteI was doing some maintenance on the website and that's why the file links didn't work. I have fixed everything now.
Please try downloading again and let me know if you have any issues.
Thanks for your interest in the template.
This is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a task manager like this for my work; however, my work computer uses excel 2007 (.xls format). I was still able to install it, however, not all of the functions work properly now. Is there anyway to make it work properly on my excel? I do not have the ability to update the excel program.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
Please e-mail me (indzara at gmail) about functions that are not working properly. When I get time to work on it, I will let you know. Thanks for downloading the template.
DeleteGreat!!
ReplyDeleteHow can I assign tsks in this template for one year
Thanks.
DeleteDo you mean a task that happens daily for one year?
This is great! But is there a way that you can merge 'Enter your tasks' and 'Update your tasks' so that I dont have to write them out again? I am hoping to use this on a mass scale to help with tasks for my job.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Thanks.
DeleteThat would require a different set-up. If you have a specific set of requirements, please e-mail me at indzara at gmail.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI dont see the dropdown functionality in excel 2007
trivibha@gmail.com
Can you please e-mail me screenshots of what you see? Thanks.
DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI would like to ask a question...Is it possible for you to increase the number of rows in the box of Pending Task and also added to can you also add a coloumn for Overdue Days where the colour of the cell changes to red when a task overdue is More than 1 day.
Yes, it can be done. I am working on some other projects now and will not be able to get to this immediately. If this is not too urgent, please e-mail me. I will work on it when I find time. Thanks.
DeleteHi, this is an excellent tool and very well presented however on Excel 2010 the pending tasks is not populating. Do you know how this can be fixed?
ReplyDeleteThank you for your help
Thank you. Please e-mail me the screenshots or the document so that I can look into it. It works for me in Excel 2010.
DeleteWonderful template -- is there a chance that a biweekly or every other week choice for the task type can be added. The template is very helpful.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It can be done. I will add this to my queue. However, it will be a while before I can get to it, with other on-going projects.
DeleteGood day! how can exclude sunday in daily type?. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am sorry that functionality is currently not in this template. It is something I will add to the next version.
DeleteHi,
ReplyDeletePlease, if you have got a template for tracking cases and the tasks with their status in another worksheet or excel workbook, or maybe word document please let me know.
I need the following.
Enter the No of the case, start, end date of the the task, then enter data, then repeat it for another case. This might perhaps happen in user-form. After all a generated template, with all the actions performed for all the cases, with their status and other specific info, or for a concrete case.
Hello Aramayis,
DeleteUnfortunately, I don't have the template that you are looking for. When I create one, I will definitely post it here.
Thanks for your comment.
Excellent article and a very wonderful way of presenting. I find the task manager very useful that I have looking for years of a kind which I searched across many places but couldn't find one of this kind. Thank you very much for your blog. I will start using this immediately.
ReplyDeleteI am very glad that you find it useful. Thanks for the compliments.
DeleteGreat template, but a number of limitations which you might consider as enhancements in future for other users.
ReplyDelete1. Task type - addition of annual and fortnightly would be advantageous
2. Occurences - if daily occurrence for the month, would be advantageous to have this extended to max of 30
3. Number of tasks - if this could be almost be doubled to at least 50
4. Weekends - if functionality was built in to take weekends into account as non-working days so that any tasks that fall on a weekend default to a Friday or Monday respectively.
Thanks,
Paula
Thanks, Paula.
DeleteI had the first 3 of your items in my plans for the next version. #4 is new. I will consider it. Thanks for your input.
The first 3 features in your list are now available in the Task manager (Advanced) template. http://indzara.blogspot.com/2014/10/task-manager-advanced.html Thanks.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteIs there a way to add more rows to table 1 where you list all the task? I'm unable to scroll down to the end of the schedule because it only moves table 2 when moving the cursor down. Please explain how to do so. --Thanks
You can unfreeze panes (from the view ribbon) to be able to scroll. Adding more rows will not work directly, as it would require making changes to the hidden 'Data' sheet where the calculations are done.
DeleteHello, Is there a possibility to have Project Planner Pro version?. We are having appx 15-20 small projects running currently and resources are shared, so it is difficult to plan. If I can get some excel with appx 10000+ tasks and resources table should be 100+ would be great. Thanks
ReplyDeleteHi Great Template However the dropdowns are not working in excel 2007 version. Can you please fix that.
ReplyDeleteRegards

ReplyDeleteHello Chris,
DeleteThe template works in Excel 2010 and 2013. I have not yet completed a version compatible with Excel 2007. I am sorry.

ReplyDeleteHi, this is an amazing tool however in Excel 2010 the pending tasks is not populating. Can you please help me fix this?
ReplyDeleteThanks you for your time. Can I have your email ID so that I can forward the screenshot if you like to take a look at it.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI have send you a mail with the screenshot. Can you please help.
Hello Immanuel Vijay,
DeleteI believe the template works as designed.
Pending tasks are tasks that have gone past the due date without completing. In your data, as of March 9th (which is when you took the screenshot), there are no tasks that are past due. If you had any tasks due March 8th or earlier that have not been completed, then they would have showed up. I hope that clarifies.
Hi indzara,
ReplyDeleteThis is such a helpful tool and very kind of you to share. God bless you for this!
Was wondering when will you release the version with an option to enter fortnightly tasks?
